Robert Canny
Robert W. Canny Jr. joined the Law Offices of Paula Canny after Law School in 2007. He focuses his practice in the areas of criminal defense and civil litigation.
Family brought Robert to Northern California. The opportunity to be near family was the draw. The chance to work with one of the top lawyers in Criminal Defense. The fact that the lawyer happens to be his sister made it an easy decision. Robert is the proud father of Robert W. Canny III. Rob III a Scholarship College Football player whose playing career was cut short by a career ending injury is pursuing a career in Business. Rob III has helped his Dad with refining his communication skills. Effective communication is imperative.
Robert during his first year of Law School also helped coach the football team at the University of La Verne. Coaching football and law school at the same time taught Robert the concept of being over extended. The final two years of Law School Robert was a Certified Law Student for the San Bernardino County Public Defender. Robert was involved in the Drug Court program. Robert also served as a Law Clerk at the firm of Geragos & Geragos for two years.
Robert brings a wealth and breadth of life experience. Prior to law school, he was a successful college and professional football coach. During his nearly twenty years of coaching experience, Robert learned tactical planning and how to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of his team and the opponent. He learned how to make decisions not just about plays but about people. Robert met and was involved with people of all races and socio-economic statuses. He learned from all of these encounters and experiences. In the emotionally charged context of recruiting, he learned to be sensitive to the concerns of the families of prospective athletes. Robert learned to listen. He brings all of these experiences and puts the skills to use in the practice of law.
Robert works for his clients. Robert works tirelessly. Robert believes that it is necessary to focus on the needs of each client. Robert then works diligently to meet the needs of his clients. Robert has successfully handled cases throughout Northern California State Courts. Robert has also handled DMV and other Administrative Hearings.
